No customer likes inefficiencies when it comes to purchasing their food. To solve this, Starbucks developed an app that allows you the convenience to order and get extra client privileges via the platform. How exactly Does Starbucks App Work?
Several times and over I have been in situations where I am craving a cold or hot drink that will get me driving all across town to try and get my hands on some. Once I pull up at a Starbucks Store, I am met with a long queue of fellow eaters craving for the same piece. I stay in the queue so long that my appetite flies away so I just take a detour mid queue and head for some alternative soda or something. I bet such frustrations contribute to the reason as to why I hadn’t ordered anything at the Starbucks drive thru for four months straight, until their Starbucks app came through to my cravings’ rescue.
The Starbucks App will offer you so much convenience in ordering your Starbucks foods ahead of time and even have it delivered without having to show up at their store. This beats all shopping odds. The App’s contactless payment and purchase give it a plus and will do you a great deal on saving your time and money.
How do you pay with the Starbucks App?
The Starbucks app allows you multiple payment options. Credit and Debit cards are enabled. You can add your cards to the app to pay directly, either at a store or pay ahead of time before pick up. If you have the Starbucks card, you can also credit it from a payment outlet of choice. The app shows you the balance on your Starbucks card.
If you are paying physically at a Starbucks store, click on the “Scan” button in the app, then go to “scan and pay”. You will be prompted to choose your most preferred way of paying. You will then scan and earn stars. One stop seamless pay. No hustle.
Without enough credit in the Starbucks card, you can as well pay separately using a credit card, debit card, mobile money or cash. All you need to do is scan the QR code provided at the store under the “Scan Only” tab. Also note that you can pay by tapping your credit/debit cards on the payment terminal, doing away with having to insert the cards.
Can I use the Starbucks app in the drive thru?
With the Starbucks app, you can also place an order before approaching the store. When you get to the drive-thru, you will drive straight to the window to pick your order. The advantage you get for ordering on the App is that you will skip the speaker box and pull up to the window directly. This allows you the convenience of not waiting until the order is ready before picking up from the window as you starve on the long queues.
To order ahead of time, the Starbucks app reflects your device location so you have access to the nearest store. At the bottom of the app, tap the “Order” button. After that you can customize the order with your most preferred Starbucks drinks and foods.
On the Starbucks app, the cart is indicated by “Shopping bag”. This is where your orders made are shown. You will then need to select your pick up point, in this case a Starbucks Store, on the drive-thru.
Does the Starbucks app tell you when your order is ready?
Yes, the Starbucks app will notify when your order is ready. You will receive a push notification.
Besides picking your order at a store, the Starbucks app allows a feature that will deliver your order to your doorstep. In the app, you can allow a “contactless” handoff. To do this, you will need to add a delivery note to the order. However, this will attract additional packaging and labor charges, different from the one in-store. Additionally, on the app you can also track the progress of your order to your point of delivery.
Checking your Starbucks card balance
With this app, you are able to check your Starbucks card balance under the Card Management icon. To do this, you only need to select “Account” in the App’s menu, then “Card management” followed by “Manage”. Remember, to make any purchases using the Starbucks card, there has to be a balance in the card.
Suppose you encounter a problem while using this app, Starbucks has a customer support center that operates from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. It is closed on weekends and public holidays. Alternatively, you can write to them via email or chat with a member of the support desk. All this is embedded in the App’s Help Options.
