What it is made of (ingredients)

There isn’t much difference in the ingredients used for Maccoffee and Nescafe. Both brands use pure coffee in all their products. The difference comes in the specific products. Maccoffee instant coffee has, in addition, sugar, natural flavorings, and non-dairy creamer (the creamer contains dipotassium phosphate, mono- and diglycerides, hydrogenated vegetable oil, sodium caseinate, corn syrup solids, and artificial flavorings),

On the other hand, Nescafe instant coffee has all the flavors Maccoffee has, depending on the product, plus other ingredients like cocoa powder and extra flavoring.

Nescafe wins when it comes to ingredients. I liked that the pure coffee is rich, and the extra flavors and ingredients make it all the more worthwhile.

Taste profile

Nescafe products generally have rich and smooth flavors. The flavors are well-balanced so that they are not too sweet. The taste of coffee is mild, and there are slight notes of flavors, be they caramel or chocolate. This depends on the type of flavor you order. The flavors include Classic, Decaf, Taster’s Choice, Clasico, Gold, and Azera.

When it comes to Maccoffee, the coffee has a bold taste, but each product has creamy notes, so the taste becomes mild after the first sip. There are flavors like vanilla, chocolate, mocha, and hazelnut. Each flavor has a different taste profile, but they are all mild and creamy.

Nescafe wins in the taste profile category. Though the number of flavors is more or less the same as that of Maccoffee, Nescafe has a variety of simplified flavors in each category.

Caffeine Content/ nutritional value

The nutritional value and caffeine content of Nescafe and Maccoffee are roughly similar. They both have approximately 50 to 60 milligrams of caffeine per serving. This is in the case of the 1.8-gram sachets. In addition, the calorie count of Nescafe is 15, while that of Maccoffee is 10. This puts both instant coffees on the healthy side. Also, they both have 0 grams of fat and proteins and 2 and 3 grams of carbohydrates, respectively. The values change depending on the flavor you choose, but either way, you won’t drink much of the recommended calorie intake of 2,000.

Nescafe and Maccoffee tie in this category. They both have low calories and generally fall on the healthy side.

Availability /Accessibility

Nescafe is a household name, mostly because it is a popular brand. It is readily available at grocery stores, supermarkets, online shopping sites, and convenience stores. However, the availability of some products depends on the region.

On the other hand, Maccoffee isn’t as popular. The availability depends on location, as most products are found in areas within and around Europe and Asia. You can find Maccoffee in stores selling imported goods or through online retailers.

Nescafe wins in the availability and accessibility category because it is easier to get.

Roast level

Since both Maccoffee and Nescafe have a variety of instant coffee flavors, all the flavors have different roast levels. For example, Nescafe Classic is a medium roast, while Toaster’s Choice is a light roast. The same with Maccoffee since the classic one is medium roast while Maccoffee ‘strong’ is a dark roast.

Nescafe and Maccoffee also tie in this category because of their various roast levels.

Anyone who looks down on instant coffee has certainly never tried Maccoffee. It has a strong coffee taste and no matter the flavor, it is hard to miss the creamy notes.
