I must, however, confess that the taste of the Starbucks version, and not necessarily the ease of making it, influenced this choice. A Brief History of the Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino
The name Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino comes from the chocolate crunchiness of the beverage, which may remind you of Cookies and of the Cookie monster’s chant of “Me want cookie.” Because it tastes so delicious, like a dream, the cookie-loving Sesame Street character’s name and what would be a dream drink for him seemed so fitting and have stuck. The beverage is attributed to a Starbucks barista from NYC known only as Sam and was shared in 2015.
Is the Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino still available at Starbucks?
Yes, you can still order the Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino at Starbucks using the Starbucks app, in-store, or online from the Starbucks website. The primary ingredients are available all year round. The drink can only be unavailable if a particular store runs out of some ingredients.

What’s in a Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino (the ingredients)?
Ingredients
- What’s in the Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino, you may ask? According to perfectbrew.com, this Frappuccino is a vanilla bean frappuccino with white mocha sauce and Java chips topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with mocha sauce.
You can replicate this beverage in the following way:
- Vanilla Bean Frappuccino: you need vanilla bean powder, whole milk, ice, crème frappuccino syrup, whipped cream, and vanilla syrup for this Frappuccino. I bake dry vanilla beans, then crush them to vanilla bean powder. To make crème frappuccino syrup, I add citric acid and xanthan gum powder to a classic syrup that you can easily make by dissolving and boiling sugar in water, then letting it simmer until the liquid turns golden. I add store-bought Watkins pure vanilla extract to simple syrup to make vanilla syrup. These, blended with the milk and ice, make the Frappuccino base topped with whipped cream.
- Java chips: since Java chips are made of chocolate mass, cocoa, sugar, cookie crumbs, and salt, I find store-bought mini-chocolate chips to be cheaper and equally delicious.
- White mocha sauce and mocha sauce: I find using the store-bought white mocha sauce much easier for the Frappuccino. A few quality sauces from different brands are available in the stores, such as Fontana’s.
- Whipped cream: I love and use aerosol whipped cream for my homemade Frappuccinos. You can get a tab from Walmart; they always have a wide selection.
What Sizes Are Available?
Like other Frappuccinos, you can get the Cookie Monster’s Dream Frappuccino in an 8-ounce mini cup, a 12-ounce tall cup, a 16-ounce Grande cup, or a 24-ounce venti cup. I usually get a Grande cup to moderate my sugar consumption, but I still enjoy the full taste of this beverage.
