What does Starbucks use for its tea infusions?
Starbucks uses Teavana tea bags for its tea infusions. Starbucks acquired Teavana in 2012, closing down all Teavana storefronts and extending the brand’s packaged tea into grocery stores, including ready-to-drink teas and tea bags. As a result, you can experience Teavana tea at Starbucks and in the comfort of your home.
How does Starbucks make its tea infusions?
Starbucks Teavana tea bags contain black tea, green tea, herbal infusions, real fruit, botanical mixtures, spices, and natural flavors. You can have hot or iced tea.
How we choose the Best Starbucks tea infusions
We selected the tea infusions included here based on their availability in Starbucks stores. We use their availability because we found some seasonal tea infusions, so you’ll only get them during these times. To rank the selected items, we reviewed customer comments about them. You can trust this post since it is informed by people’s views from different walks of life. We also considered what the tea infusions contained and included that information.
8 Popular Starbucks Tea Infusions
Here are some of the most popular Starbucks tea infusions.
Chai Latte
Chai latte is one of my favorite teas of all time. It is spicy and warm, a comforting cup that draws inspiration from traditional chai flavors. This tea is made of a Chai blend (black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, star anise, ginger cloves, natural flavors), water, and steamed milk. Chai latte will give you an energy boost thanks to the caffeine from the black tea. The Chai latte is one of the most popular teas at many Starbucks stores.
Matcha Green Tea Frappuccino
This popular tea looks more like a frozen milkshake than tea. However, because it is made using matcha tea, it falls under tea infusions. It is made using a Matcha tea blend, milk, ice, creme, Frappuccino syrup, and whipped cream. We found this beverage to be quite popular. It offers a frappuccino-like creamy sweetness without being too heavy. I now use it as a special refreshing treat when I need to lift my mood any day of the week. Instead of the typical three pumps for a Grande cup, you can ask the barista to give you less if you prefer to lower your sugar intake.
Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade
An excellent cold drink for a hot day, we found this beverage to be fruity and refreshing with a natural taste. The tea comprises iced green tea (lemongrass, peppermint, spearmint), peach-flavored fruit juice blend, lemonade, and liquid cane sugar. You will also like the minty fragrance that teases the senses, which are some qualities that make this a year-round favorite. The peach juice is evident but is not overwhelming.
Iced Passion Tango Tea
This caffeine-free iced drink is perfect for a hot summer day, and it’s made of Passion tango tea (apple, lemongrass, and hibiscus), ice, and lemonade. Contrary to what I expected from the name, this drink is not overly sweet, with hints of cinnamon in the blend, creating a spicy balance for the sweet mix. You will find this a delectable drink, with the fruit tea sweetness pairing well with the lemonade and the lemongrass in the tea blend.
Iced Black Tea Lemonade
Most tea fans see this tea as Starbucks’ version of the “Arnold Palmer”—a beverage that consists of half lemonade and half iced tea, which is renowned for its refreshing and revitalizing drink after a round of golf—hence the name. The tea consists of a black tea blend and lemonade, with added ice, before the drink is shaken. The shaking is essential to ensuring that all of this tea’s ingredients are well integrated.
Matcha Green Tea Latte
Another matcha green tea makes this list, and to get this one, the barista will have to use Matcha tea (a blend of sugar and ground green tea) and steamed milk. Because Starbucks’ matcha has sugar, it is a frothy, rich, hot drink that is warming and quite sweet and is popular, especially on cool days.
Honey Citrus Mint Tea
This drink was once a popular secret menu item that we are happy has become mainstream and can be ordered right off Starbucks’ regular menu. To make what was previously known as the “Medicine Ball,” the barista will need to steep Peach Tranquility tea and Jade Citrus Mint tea bags in steamed lemonade and hot water. Then add a little honey to make it sweet. You can give it a minty twist by asking the barista to add some peppermint syrup.
London Fog Tea Latte
I find the description of this tea as one that takes everything great about a traditional latte and combines it with the Earl Gray tea’s aromatic and floral flavors to be entirely accurate. You should try it for its mixture of black tea, warmed milk, vanilla, and lavender, which makes for a soothing drink, one that some claim can convert a coffee latte drinker to an avid tea latte enthusiast.
