What do you know about Dutch Bros?
This is the first question you will be asked once you enter the interview room. This question will be asked with the intention of the company wanting to know if you have any knowledge about the company and, if yes, what you know it for. To answer this question, briefly discuss how great the company is towards serving its customers and the types of drinks they offer. Here is an example of an answer;
“I know that Dutch Bros is the biggest coffee company in this country, which gained popularity from its quality drinks and services to its customers. This coffee chain’s headquarters is located in Grants Pass, Oregon, in the United States, and it has been able to open over 300 stores across different states. I also know this company from its quality and fresh variety of drinks it offers, from coffee, frosts, blended drinks, and even smoothies”.
Why Do You Want to Work with Dutch Bros as Your Future Company?
When asked this question, the interviewer wants to know why you are interested in working with Dutch Bros as a coffee chain company and not any other coffee store. To perfectly answer this question, state that you want to work with Dutch Bros because of the quality service it has been providing over the years and the attitude and behavior that the staff usually have towards its customers. I have also gained new skills and knowledge required in the coffee industry, making me fit for the position I am applying for. I have also learned that communication is the number one skill or attribute a good employee must have to provide their services to customers fully. Additionally, I have acquired supervisory skills that enable me to play as a team leader whenever I am summoned to be one”.
When was the last time you had to make a difficult decision?
This question aims at knowing the kind of employee you are and the thought process you are likely to consider before making any decision that may directly affect the company’s services. To answer this question, narrate your past experiences where you had to decide without involving your senior. Here is how you can answer this question;
“The last time I made a difficult decision was at my last job, where I had to turn a customer’s request down, a thing that rarely happens in this industry. A customer had come in late and ordered a drink that needed to be iced. Since we were about to close in the next few minutes, we had run out of ice and could not make it. I kindly explained to the customers that there was no ice to make their drink and that I would be more than willing to make them a cup the following day. Although I could have given them an iced drink or slightly cold, I chose to be open about the situation to give them the best even if it meant the following day.”
What are your strengths?
When asked this question, focus on the qualities you have that enable you to be a team player, lead other people on your team, or perform tasks under minimal or no supervision. The interviewer needs to see the impact you will bring to the company. Here is how you can answer it;
“One of the strengths I pride in is that I can be a key player and a great team leader. I can diligently perform any work assigned to me and assign duties to some of my juniors. Another strength I have is the ability to work under minimal or no supervision, as my end goal is to give out my best services at all times.
Do you have any weaknesses?
As an employee, I always look forward to giving my best service to every customer. On days or occasions when I feel I did not give my best, I tend to regret or lose my confidence, which may affect my services. However, I always ensure to serve every customer with quality service regardless of age, gender, or social status.
Have you ever encountered a rude customer? How did you deal with the situation?
Make sure you give a brief narration of how you were forced to deal with a rude customer and how you handled the situation gracefully as an employee. Ensure that the interviewer sees that you still upheld the company’s values and did not leave the customer ruder or angry. Here is an example of an answer you can give.
“I once encountered a rude customer who felt that their order had been delayed for too long and therefore decided to want a refund or another free order to compensate for the time they had wasted. I explained to them that I never intended to keep them waiting and apologized for any inconvenience I had caused them. I told the customer I would be happy to offer them another drink if they understood the situation and became happy, as I love serving a happy customer. They immediately understood why I had delayed their order and were kind enough to enjoy their order in the store and thank me for considering their feelings”.

This question intends to see how you react when things seem to fall apart at your workplace. If you have never been fired, tell them that. However, if you have ever been fired from your previous work, tell them the cause and how you handled the situation, considering that you also contributed to the decision. “Yes, I was fired from my first job as a barista after I served two customers with wrong orders. I was new at the job and needed to focus on what each customer wanted. After the experience, I always learned to put the customers first and serve each one before proceeding to the other. This way, I would be able to give each customer my full attention and provide them with quality services.”

“I would not change anything with the company as this company has worked hard over the years to be where it is. However, if allowed to work with this company, I will ensure to bring a positive impact to the company in terms of skills and the quality services offered to their customers.”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
When answering this question, ensure that the interviewers know that you would love to work with the company for the longest time because of the skills and knowledge you would acquire through the years. If you intend to promote in the next few years to a higher position, let them know that;
”In the next five years, I want to see myself as the employee I am working to be.
