Here is how to whip up hazelnut syrup at home
Medium Saucepan
Stove and oven
Two dishcloths
Bowl
Mixing bowl
- 250g Hazelnuts
- 500g water
- 500g Rapadura
Preheat the oven to 320F and roast the hazelnuts until you get a sweet aroma and the color begins to change.
Remove the nuts from the oven and put them in a bowl. Take your two dishwash cloths and agitate the nuts until the cover comes off.
Place the nuts into a mixing bowl and whiz for 5 seconds at a speed of 4. In your saucepan, pour the Rapadura and water and bring them to a boil. Add the hazelnuts and let the mixture boil. Keep stirring to avoid burn.
Strain the remaining mixture until all the nuts are removed and let it cool. Leave it in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
- If you do not have a mixing bowl, you can use a rolling pin to crush your hazelnuts.
- Wait for 24 hours for all flavors to settle to feel the rich, nutty taste.
