Starbucks Peach Syrup

Starbucks Peach Syrup Copycat Recipe

Kai Jordan
Since this syrup was discontinued from the Starbucks menu and it is relatively difficult to buy online, here’s a copycat recipe that you can use at home to make this delicious peach syrup. It’s also cheaper and healthier than anything store-bought.
Cuisine American

Equipment

  • Medium-sized saucepan.
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Jar/bottle for storage

Ingredients

  • 4 medium pitted peaches cut into big chunks
  • ¼ cup of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water

Instructions

  • Place the washed and pitted peaches in a medium saucepan together with the lemon juice and 1 cup of water.
  • Add the sugar on top but be careful not to stir it.
  • Bring the water to a simmer using medium-high heat.
  • Reduce the heat to low once at a boil and allow it to simmer for 30 minutes. Do not stir while it’s cooking as this will break up the peaches.
  • Remove from the heat and strain the syrup with the sieve to remove the chunks of fruit. The peaches can be saved for later and used as jam.
  • To the remaining syrup, whisk in the other cup of water and transfer to the jar or bottle for storage.
  • Allow it to cool completely then store in the fridge for up to a month. It can be used in cocktails, desserts, and iced tea (or any beverage you like!).

Notes

  • This peach syrup can also be made in the microwave. It’s easy and fast with just as good results. You will need to put the peaches in a microwave-safe bowl with water and sugar (no stirring) then cover tightly with cling film or plastic wrap. Microwave for 5 minutes then proceed to sieve as instructed in step 5.
  • This recipe can be used for several other fruit syrups. Just replace the peaches with strawberries, nectarines, blueberries, and any other fruit/berry you fancy.
  • The quantities of sugar and lemon juice are adjustable to suit your preference. Use ½ a cup of lemon juice if you like it sourer and 4 cups of sugar for a sweeter syrup.
