Add all the ingredients to a medium saucepan and then stir the mixture over low heat so that the sugar can dissolve.
Bring the entire mixture to a slow boil.
When it is boiling reduce for it to simmer then allow the mixture to turn to a syrupy consistency and continue to stir occasionally.
Switch off the heat and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature.
Transfer it to a jar/bottle or you can serve it immediately.
