I will teach you how to prepare the syrup in your kitchen with 5 easy steps
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 ¼ cup of water
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Into one saucepan, add water, salt and the cinnamon stick and heat for 5 minutes, then remove the cinnamon stick.
Place the other saucepan over medium-high heat and pour the granulated sugar in and let it heat until it begins to melt, stirring occasionally to prevent the sugar from burning.
Once all the sugar has melted into a brown syrup, add the cinnamon boiling water and vanilla extract and stir speedily.
Reduce the heat to low and continue stirring for about 30 seconds until it is well-mixed.
Remove the syrup from the stove and let it cool before storing it in a jar.
- Cinnamon is used to add a warm and slightly spicy flavor to the syrup, although it is optional.
- If you don’t like vanilla extract, you can replace it with whatever natural flavor extract you love.
