Starbucks Caramel Syrup Copycat Recipe

Kai Jordan

Equipment

  • Cooking pan
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Gas or cooker for heating

Ingredients

  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Citric acid
  • Additional natural flavors according to preference.

Instructions

  • In a pan, mix your desired amount of sugar and water and put it to boil over medium-high heat.
  • After the sugar has boiled, turn the heat down a little bit, and leave the sugar to caramelize until it turns golden brown.
  • Wait till your sugar has turned to golden brown and place it somewhere to cool. Add your preferred additional natural flavors, citric acid, or a little salt with water. Stir the mixture until it gets the thickness you love.
  • Allow the caramel syrup to cool, and transfer it into a tight container.

Notes

Use hot water when adding the second batch of water to the caramel mixture, reducing the caramel spatter.
