Peet’s Coffee Cold Brew Copycat Recipe

Kai Jordan

Equipment

  • Grinder
  • Cold Brewer
  • Scale
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • Freshly roasted coffee beans
  • Cold, freshly filtered water

Instructions

  • Measure then Grind: Measure and grind approximately 250 milligrams of coffee beans that are freshly roasted.
  • Prepare then brew: To the filter, add ground coffee, then proceed to slowly pour about one liter of water that is freshly filtered and cold. After 30 seconds, all the grass will bloom. Pour in the quarter-liter of fresh, cold water that remained.
  • Wait: Leave the coffee to brew for at least 12 hours.
  • Drain concentrate: Before discarding the grounds, allow the cold brew concentrate to drain completely by first lifting the filter.
  • Serve and enjoy your drink: Using two parts cold water, dilute one-part cold brew concentrate and enjoy your drink.

Notes

  • A finer grind will result in over-extraction during the coffee brewing process.
  • To ensure all the grounds are fully saturated, use a whisk or a spoon’s back to carefully push all the dry grounds beneath the water surface.
  • You can add syrup to make it sweeter.
