How to make the Starbucks witch’s brew drink at home

Kai Jordan
While Starbucks named the drink to fit into the Halloween theme, the beverage was really made with chia seeds (bat warts), Frappuccino based flavored as orange cream (toad’s breath) and matcha powder (lizard scales) as the main ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1frozen banana
  • 1 cup of blueberries that will give the purple color
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of matcha powder

Instructions

  • Soak the chia seeds in water for about 10 minutes and drain. Keep them aside. In your blender, put the blueberries, frozen bananas, almond milk, orange juice, and vanilla extract and blend until they are all incorporated together to a smooth consistency.
  • Put a portion of the smooth mixture in a glass and strategically put half a teaspoon of chia seeds on the sides of the glass. Repeat the process until the glass is full.
  • Top the drink with whipped cream and finish off by dusting with matcha powder on top to give it a green color at the top.
