  • Latte
  • 2 ounces hot espresso or chilled espresso concentrate
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • Red and green sprinkles, to taste

Instructions

  • Sugar cookie simple syrup
Place water, sugar, and vanilla extract into a small saucepan and bring to a gentle boil over medium/high heat.
Whisk the ingredients together, then remove from heat.Add the butter to the simple syrup and whisk until melted.

Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the espresso.
Add the sugar cookie simple syrup and mix.

  • For a hot latte
Pour the sugar cookie syrup into the bottom of a mug and add the espresso on top. Mix and set aside.
Add the almond milk and vanilla extract to the same saucepan and heat the almond milk on medium heat till the desired temperature. Do not let it boil, or else it may burn.
Pour the milk into a tall glass and froth it with the hand frother.
Pour the almond milk on top of the espresso and gently stir to not displace the milk froth.
Sprinkle the latte with holiday-colored sprinkles and enjoy.

Notes

-You could use a milk frother, instead of a hand frother if you have one at home
-Use a 1/8 teaspoon butter extract instead. In making an iced drink, the butter may coagulate in the drink
-For a dairy-free option, use vegan butter instead of normal butter
-You could substitute the white sugar with maple syrup or honey.
