Starbucks always goes all out during holidays with its secret menu, and Halloween is no different. You might have heard about Starbucks Halloween drinks when the holiday is around the corner, and you may wonder, what is the Starbucks Halloween drink?
Starbucks Halloween drink is a beverage that the company comes up with every Halloween holiday to match the Halloween theme. Starbucks has consistently celebrated the creepy holiday with spine-chilling Frappuccino flavors since 2014. While Starbucks comes up with different drinks every Halloween, The Zombie Frappuccino became a fan favorite. I tried the drink when it was first made in 2017 and cannot stop craving it. Honestly, I have customized my Frappuccino severally to get this beverage ever since to satisfy my craving. The Zombie Frappuccino was inspired by thinking about what type of drink a monster and Halloween party mash would look like, and the zombie-inspired drink joined the party.

How to make Starbucks Halloween drink at home (copycat recipe)
Although the Zombie Frappuccino was a seasonal drink, you can still enjoy the drink even after the promotional period if your local Starbucks store has the ingredients at hand. However, if you do not want to visit the store but still want to enjoy the drink, below is a homemade recipe that can give you the same tangy fall flavors, and the terrifying look that conjures the zombies.
Step one: supplies
How to make Starbucks Halloween drink at home: supplies
- Measuring spoons and cups
- Starbucks cups for serving
- Ice cube trays
- Two cups of ice
- ¾ cup of milk (you can use whole milk or any other type you can grab from your fridge)
- One tablespoon of caramel sauce (you can also use one tablespoon of caramel syrup if the sauce is not available)
- Red chocolate sauceThree tablespoons of simple syrup (you can also use three tablespoons of sugar if the simple syrup is unavailable)
- Pink whipping topping
- Two tablespoons of green apple syrup
- Green food coloring
Step two: making the red blood chocolate sauce and pink brain topping
For the red blood chocolate sauce, you will mix the chocolate sauce with a few drops of red food coloring. A few drops of the food coloring will do the trick as it does not take much to give it the color.
For the pink brain topping, you will need one cup of heavy whipping cream and red food coloring. While the Starbucks original version does not have a flavored whip topping, you can give your Zombie Frappuccino a chocolate flavor by adding one tablespoon of sugar and one tablespoon of white chocolate Torani. Combine all the ingredients and whip them until you get stiff peaks. Using very cold whipping cream will give the best results.
Step three: Blending and assembling
You will start by blending your Frappuccino ingredients together, and if you would like to make it more fun, you can add a few drops of green food coloring. Then get the whipped topping ready by putting it in a piping bag.
To get the drink ready, begin by drizzling the red chocolate sauce on the inside top of the glass, and then fill it with the blended Frappuccino drink. Then finish the drink off by topping it with the homemade whipped topping.
It would be best if you went back and forth when putting the whipped topping instead of circles to give it the brain look. And there you go; you have yourself a Zombie Frappuccino. And just like the real Zombie Frappuccino drink, the blood chocolate mixes and spreads in the drink, giving it a “creepy” look.

To order the Zombie Frappuccino drink at Starbucks, begin by asking for a Grande green tea Frappuccino because a zombie would not be complete without the creepy green color. During Halloween, you will find scary movies in theatres, Halloween treats gracing the store shelves, and goriness sets in.
