Brief History of the Drink
This drink traces its roots to Tik Tok just like many other Starbucks secret menu items. It was made viral by a Tit Toker and people haven’t looked back ever since. It has been a great addition to my sweet life and I keep asking where Tik Tok has been all my life as I enjoy my sips of this sweet sensation. I thought I was making a fuss about it and decided to take it to the worst critic of almost anything in the entire universe; my mom. I was shocked beyond words to see her down a whole Grande.

Sour Gummy Worm Refresher: (Ingredients, Taste, Variations, Sizes, Caffeine, Calories)
What’s in a Sour Gummy Worm Refresher?-(Ingredients)
A sour gummy worm refresher is simply made with Valencia orange refresher, peach syrup, and raspberry syrup. This modification intensifies the taste of berries and adds a peach twist to it. Some people opt to ask for a strawberry acai refresher in the place of a Valencia orange refresher. The bottom line is having a good drink made to your preference. Let’s see what these ingredients are all about.
Valencia Orange refresher: This is one of the simplest refreshers at Starbucks. This acts as the base drink while ordering the sour gummy worm refresher. It is made with real orange juice and lemon iced tea. It is sweet and hints of lemon sourness if you don’t over-sweeten it.
Raspberry syrup: This is a simple mixture of raspberries and sugar. It is ideal for that berrylicious taste in any drink.
Peach syrup: Spring is the peach season and a good time to add these sweet fruits to almost everything. The peach syrup is also made with ripe peaches and sugar. It can be homemade or purchased in stores.
Sour Gummy Worm Refresher: Sizes, Nutrition, Caffeine & Calories
What sizes are available?
This refresher is found in the usual Starbucks sizes. If you order a tall serving, you will get a 12 fluid ounces cup, a Grande comes in 16 fluid ounces, a venti gives you 20 fluid ounces, while a Trenta gives you a whopping 30 fluid ounces. All this depends on the level of your thirst and your ability to pay for them, of course. I like the Venti because it does take away my thirst without exaggerating my overall intake. I don’t know what you would prefer, but what I know is that you will be getting a tantalizing treat.
The Starbucks sour gummy worm refresher has around 100 calories per Grande serving. This amount can reduce in a tall and increase significantly in a Trenta serving. The carbs are very low at 30g. This is a great low-carb drink for those looking to keep fit. This drink contains no cholesterol. Your heart is safe with the sour gummy worm refresher. The sugars don’t look bad either; at 20 g, this is pretty decent. Our great refresher is also fat-free; it keeps getting better, doesn’t it?
Overall, this is what I would call a healthy refresher. The fruits are great for vitamins and immunity-boosting and this drink’s taste is to die for. You have probably heard numerous complaints about Starbucks drinks and their unhealthiness; as much as this is true, the drinks are all dependent on what one wants. If you want unhealthy, Starbucks will give you just that, but if you want healthy options, the store has plenty of those too. Let’s summarize all the nutritional information below.

This drink contains 7mg o caffeine per tall serving. This stems from the iced lemon tea in the Valencia orange refresher which is the base drink. This caffeine level is great to stir up some energy without causing a buzz to your day. I’ve seen people especially those who aren’t addicted to caffeine get anxiety about caffeine overdose. The Starbucks sour gummy worm refresher is a safe drink for people who want to keep their caffeine low.

This drink tastes like real gummy worms. The sour part of it is debatable. When I ordered it, I didn’t exactly get the sourness I was hoping for, but this can be adjusted with additional ingredients such as lemon. I tasted notes of orange and peach, and a dash of raspberry sweetness. It is tasty with every single layer.
Ways to customize sour gummy worm Refresher-Sour gummy worm refresher variations
I have read and tried many sour gummy worm recipes, but one interesting Tik-Toker suggested a strawberry version of the drink. All you need to do is substitute the Valencia orange refresher with a strawberry acai refresher. It wasn’t bad at all. I bumped into another suggestion that said one should try out salt to increase the sourness. You can try that out too.
