Brief History of the drink
I was so intrigued by this drink that I had to discover its inception. The Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino was created by Starbucks, released on 19th April 2017, and went viral. Unicorns, being mythical, magical, and colorful creatures, emulate brightness and happiness, resonating with many with the pink and purple colors. It’s no wonder that the drink became very popular. The beverage was, however, offered for a limited period and is no longer available at Starbucks.
Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino Overview
What’s in a Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino- (ingredients)
Ingredients
The amazing Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino consists of Crème Frappuccino syrup, mango syrup, milk, ice, sour blue powder, pink powder, and blue drizzle. It is topped off with vanilla whipped cream and sprinkles of sour blue and sweet pink powder.
The Crème Frappuccino syrup, mango syrup, and milk make up most of the drink and provide the base for the unicorn theme with some ice to chill the drink. The blue drizzle gives the peeks of blue, with some whipped cream to top off, while the pink and sour blue powder is dusted onto the whipped cream as fairy powder to produce a colorful, tasteful delicacy.
Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino: Sizes, nutrition, Caffeine & Calories
What sizes are available?
The Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino, like most frappuccinos, comes in tall (12 ounces), grande (16 ounces), and venti (24 ounces). The grande is my preferred size, not too little but not too much. If you have never tried it, I’d highly suggest you get the tall size and progress from there because the sugar can be overwhelming.
Nutritional facts
Starbucks Frappuccinos are known to be high in sugar and calories, which isn’t necessarily healthy. The Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino is exceptionally very high in sugar. The Stratford Health Department has criticized it since excessive sugar intake is linked to heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.
A Venti has approximately 500 calories, a Grande around 410, and a Tall about 280 calories.

Caffeine information
The vibrant Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino does not contain caffeine. Need a break from caffeine? It is perfect for you. It is suitable for everyone; even children can have it. We know that caffeine is known to increase blood pressure and deteriorate sleep. But if you want some caffeine rush, it is possible to incorporate it into the drink. Simple swap the Crème Frappuccino for any caffeine-based Frappuccino.
So, what does Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino taste like?
It is pure bliss! I am most excited about the bursts of flavor in my taste buds as the sweet taste turns tarty. It is divine, but I must say, it can be a lot for some, so you could start small if it is your first time.
Ways to Customize a Unicorn Frappuccino at Starbucks
There are so many variations to the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino; all you have to do is play around with the ingredients. You could swap the Crème Frappuccino for a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino to add some vanilla flavor or have an Iced White Chocolate Mocha if you need some caffeine. You could also substitute the mango syrup for a raspberry one. If you prefer to stick to the original recipe, you can have a non-dairy or a lower-fat option instead of whole milk or reduce the amount of syrup pumps to your liking.
