The selection of beverages at Starbucks can sometimes be confusing to new customers. I remember when I started visiting the store, I wasted a lot of time staring at the menu, not sure what to get for breakfast. I have since familiarized myself with the items and am confident in my knowledge of the lingo. In this post, I will share some of the things I now know about the company’s beverage menu. What is in Starbucks beverage menu items?

Whether you are looking for a hot or cold drink, Starbucks has a wide selection of beverages to quench your thirst. The first thing you need to know is the cup sizes. Beverages are serviced in four main sizes, namely tall, grande, venti, and trenta. The grande is the default size for most drinks. You also need to know the kind of beverages on offer. The menu comprises coffee, teas, hot drinks, frappuccinos blended beverages, and cold drinks. Here are the different items and some of the popular Starbucks beverages.

Brewed Coffee items

• Freshly Brewed coffee and Coffee Caffè Misto– these are brewed coffees. The misto consists of freshly brewed coffee and steamed milk in equal parts.

Espresso Drink items

• Caffè Americanos, Cappuccinos, Espresso, Flat whites, Caffè Lattes, Macchiatos, and Mochas, and their variations are all espresso-based drinks prepared in different ways

Chai Teas items

• Chai Tea Latte and Chai Tea– these are black teas infused with clove, cinnamon, and other spices.

Black Teas items

• Earl Grey Tea, and Royal English Breakfast Tea Latte– are among hot black teas that contain either black tea, bergamot, citrus fruit, lemon, vanilla, and floral or lavender tea flavors.

Green Tea items

• Emperor’s Cloud & Mist, and Matcha tea Latte– are some of the green teas containing either lemongrass, lemon verbena, mint, or Matcha and other ingredients.

Herbal Teas items

• Mint Majesty and Peach Tranquillity– are 100 percent calorie-free.

Hot Drinks items

• Hot Chocolate and White-Hot Chocolate -low caffeine alternatives to coffee.

• Juices: including Caramel Apple Spice and Steamed Apple Juice.

• Steamers: including Steamed Milk and Vanilla Crème.

Coffee Frappuccino items

• Coffee frappuccinos are blended beverages made from coffee, cream or milk, flavor, and ice.

Crème Frappuccino items

• Creme frappuccinos are blended beverages with either cream or milk, ice, flavors, and a crème base.

Iced Coffees items

• Iced Coffee items are either brewed coffee or espresso-based. These include Iced Coffee and Iced Espresso-based drinks.

Cold Brew Items

• Cold brew concentrates generally have a very high coffee to water ratio. Starbucks Cold Brew menu includes Starbucks Cold Brew, and Honey Almond milk Cold Brew.

• Nitro Cold Brews is any of the cold brew coffee items infused with nitrogen gas.

Iced Teas items

• Iced Black Tea, Chai Teas, Green Teas, and Herbal Teas are deliciously refreshing ice-infused summer treats. You can customize your drink too.

Starbucks Refreshers items

• Refreshers: these are Starbucks branded iced drinks made with green coffee extract and genuine fruit juice.

• Juices: the list has lemonade, strawberry, and Starbucks’ own organic line of juices.

How do I order Starbucks beverage menu items?

Using the Starbucks app is the easiest way to order ahead and make contactless payments. Starbucks service now includes grab-and-go café service, drive-thru, and order-ahead entryway pickup and delivery options. You can locate a store, check hours and make payments using the App.

To order from the Starbucks beverage menu online, open the app, and tap the “Order” icon. From there, select and customize your favorite Starbucks beverage and add it to your cart. Then select a convenient store for your pick up. Review the order, confirm if okay, and check out. The app will estimate and show you the wait time.

Some stores are open for orders at the counter. In which case always give the barista the list of ingredients, starting with the size, then the base beverage then substitutes, then additions, and or toppings.
