It is also unhealthy since it contains artificial sugar. Though its label indicates that it has 5mg of sugar, taking it daily can lead to weight gain. The label also indicates that this creamer has 35 calories. The refined sugar in coffee mate is also unhealthy since it can make you crave sugar more and accelerate tooth decay.
Coffee mate also contains a food additive called carrageenan which is known to cause digestive problems and inflammation. It may also be why you may be experiencing bloating after your morning cup of coffee. This creamer has no nutritional value since it has no antioxidants, minerals, or vitamins.
How much coffee mate can you have in a day?
Though there is no limit on how much coffee mate you can consume in a day, experts recommend not taking too much of it. Even if you love the taste of this creamer, take it in moderation to avoid consuming the unhealthy compounds we discussed above. Consider taking only 1 tablespoon of coffee mate per cup of coffee and do not consume it every day. Even when you skip a day or two, you can still enjoy the flavor of coffee without consuming too many calories.
