How do I order water from the Starbucks App?
Have you ever been so thirsty you could drink a gallon of water (like the guy above)? That’s how thirsty I was the day I found out I could order Iced water via the Starbucks App.
Truth be told, however, since Starbucks gives free filtered tap water in-store, it is almost impossible to order it via the Starbucks App since it’s a free item.
However, some clients, including myself, have come up a creative ways to order free water from Starbucks through the App.
One way is by editing your name on the app to include the size and kind of water you want. For instance, one customer named Sylvia changed her name to “Sylvia Grande iced water”.
This is the easiest way to let the Baristas know that you also want a grande sized iced water along with your order.
It is however important to note that this may not work all the time, especially if the Baristas have a lot of orders and less time to go through everything including the customizations of your name.
But if you don’t mind paying for the water then you should know that Starbucks also offers bottled water that can be ordered and paid for via the App.
To order for the bottle water simply follow these steps:
- Open the App,
- Click on the Menu icon
- Scroll down to the “Cold Drinks” section,
- Under that section look for water options.
- Tap on your preferred bottle.
- Proceed to pay.

In case you are already at the Starbucks store or have the time to visit the store physically you can still order for water in store.
Keep in mind, however, that Starbucks offers its customers free filtered tap water. It is usually served in a venti size cup unless you request otherwise.
When placing your regular order, you can simply include that you want the free water with it.
If you are a large group of people, it’s easier to have one person order for the free water for the entire group, instead of having everyone do it one by one.
This ensures a proper workflow without delays for other customers. At the end of it if you are feeling generous, you can always tip the Barista, since it’s a nice way of appreciating free products.
Please note, however, that this is just a tip since the filtered tap water is never charged.
But if you want to order the bottled water, you can choose from the range of options they have and place the order by following the steps below:
Step 1: Walk up to the barista.
Step 2: Place the order of your preferred bottled water.
Step 3: State whether you want it with or without ice.
Step 4: Pay and pick up your bottled water.
