Does Starbucks charge extra for customized Frappuccino?

As you may already know, Starbucks allows you to customize whichever drink you order to suit your specification and lifestyle. There are a variety of options played out on the website in case you are ordering online or which the barista will inform you about. Some of them include the cup size, milk type, number of shots of espresso, blending options, flavors, toppings, and add-ins.

Not all these inclusions, however, come free. Some increase the price of your drink depending on the amount you add. When ordering any Frappuccino, any extra shots of espresso past the standard one provided is charged $0.75 dollars each. This means this amount doubles or triples if you order two or three more shots respectively. An extra amount is also charged if you order oat, almond, coconut, or soy milk. This however only applies if they are not the standard milk option for that particular Frappuccino.

Unknown to many people, it is not all inclusions that are charged. Syrup inclusions and toppings are an exemption. If you order a pumpkin spice Frappuccino that requires pumpkin sauce flavor and pumpkin spice topping for example, you will not be charged extra cash if you order extra of the two. However, if the syrup you want extra is not part of the drink’s standard order, you will be charged extra.

The one that currently holds the crown is Sexagintuple Vanilla Bean Mocha Frappuccino. It has 60 shots of espresso, 128 ounces of milkshake, mocha, hazelnut and caramel drizzle, and protein powder. Luckily whoever bought it was not charged from his pocket but from a MSR reward. It is closely followed by Quadriginoctuple Frappuccino which went for $47.30 and contained 48 shots.
