Yes, it is possible to get a sugar-free drink at Starbucks. There are plenty of options, in fact, most hot or iced coffees, espresso, and teas at Starbucks naturally have no sugar. The source of their sugar comes from the added flavors and syrups. You can, however, also opt for sugar-free syrups while customizing your Starbucks drinks or use unsweetened non-dairy milk among other modifications.
How Can I Order Starbucks Coffee Without Sugar?
Since there are some Starbucks drinks on the menu that have no sugar, you can simply order them off the menu as they are without any modifications. The same goes for when you’re ordering from the Starbucks app. If the drink you want is sugary, you can make some modifications like swapping the regular syrups for sugar-free syrups where applicable. How We Choose The Best Starbucks Coffee With No Sugar.
While my sister and I were coming up with this list, there were several factors we considered. They are as follows:
- No added sugar – seeing as we were looking for sugar-free coffee drinks at Starbucks, the drinks included here do not need any added sugar to enjoy.
- Little to no natural sugar – most of the drinks here have zero sugar content. Some, however, may have natural sugar content from the milk, but then we can guarantee that it’s very little compared to what most Starbucks drinks have.
- Taste – considering how bitter coffee can be without sugar, we were looking for something palatable without sugar. While some people may enjoy the bitterness, my sister and I aren’t such big fans. So, the drinks included here can be enjoyed without sugar and with no overwhelming bitter taste.
4 Best Starbucks Coffee With No Sugar.
Plain Black coffee.
This was the first option we tried and though we expected coffee with no milk, cream, or sugar to be overly bitter, we were happily proved wrong. It depends on the coffee blends you choose. The blonde roast or pike place roast (regular or decaf) blends, are the best if you are planning to have coffee with no sugar. Our favorite is the pike place roast. It’s well-balanced, not too mild or too strong, with rich and unique flavor consisting of toasted nuts and chocolatey taste notes. You can enjoy the black coffee, hot or iced, and not have to worry about any sugar because it is completely sugar-free, and has a low-calorie count.
Espresso shot
This option is more so for those of you who don’t mind or enjoy the bitterness in coffee. A shot of this is sugar-free and has enough caffeine punch to help you kick start your day. Not to mention it is a cheaper option. But if you are like my sister and me and can’t stand the bitterness, then you’re in luck. We discovered some Starbucks espresso-based drinks that have no sugar and can be taken without any added sugar or sweetener. They are:

- Blonde Caffe Americano (hot or iced)
- Espresso Macchiato
Cappuccino
If you enjoy milk in your coffee and don’t want to give it up, then a cappuccino is the next best option for you.
